The Southern New England Rehabilitation Center (SNERC) at Fatima Hospital has been awarded three year reaccreditation for its Inpatient Rehabilitation Program and new accreditation of its Stroke Specialty Program. Both accreditations are for three years and were awarded by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an independent, nonprofit body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process.
“This survey attests to the dedication, compassion, and skill of our clinical staff and management group,” said Dr. Jon Mukand, Medical Director of SNERC. “I’m very proud to be part of a program of this caliber.”
When choosing care, CARF accreditation is important as it means the program has passed an in-depth review of the quality of its program and services. The surveyors from CARF conducted their survey over two days in November.
“Everyone on the rehabilitation team played a critical part in achieving accreditation,” said Jeanne Stowe, MBA, RN, NHA, Director of Rehabilitation Case Management. “Our team works hard to make sure our each of our patients has an optimal recovery. Organizational infrastructure was also evaluated which means leadership, finance, human resources, facilities, risk and others also played a part in our survey.”
