New nursing leaders named at Fatima
The Nursing Department at Fatima has announced four new members of nursing leadership.
Kristin DelSesto, RN, BSN, MSN has been named Nurse Leader for the medical/surgical unit, 3rd Pavilion. She has been an employee at Fatima for more than 25 years, holding positions in the emergency department and on medical/surgical units. She is also a registered respiratory therapist. DelSesto holds a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Rhode Island College and a Master of Science in Forensic Medicine from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Heather Herlin, RN, BSN, MSN has been named Nurse Leader for 2nd Pavilion. Heather was previously the Clinical Nurse Educator at an acute care hospital and has held positions as a clinical resource coordinator and an ICU nurse. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and a Master’s of Science in nursing leadership and management from Walden University. She is a certified BLS and ACLS Instructor.
Gina Martin, BSN, BA, M Ed, CCM, has been named Nurse Leader for the behavioral health unit, 3rd South Pavilion. She has been a registered nurse for 29 years, holding a variety of positions including nurse manager for an infusion company, case manager, nurse liaison, admissions coordinator, and educator. She has also served as a staff nurse in the emergency department, oncology, and a medical/surgical unit. She holds two Bachelor’s Degrees from Rhode Island College in nursing and psychology. She also holds a Masters of Education from Rhode Island College.
Shannon Silva, RN, has been hired as Nurse Leader for Perioperative and Endoscopy Services. She came to us from Women and Infants Hospital where she worked in different roles over the past 26 years. The past 4 years she was the Nurse Manager of Surgical Services. She has her ADN from CCRI in 1988 and will receive her BSN from Rhode Island College in December, continuing on for her MSN.
