Nurses recognized for excellence by RI Monthly, State Nurses Association
Diane D’Ambra, RN, MS, WCC, WCN, and “TJ” Sarrazin, RN, two nurses from the CharterCARE system, have been recognized for nursing excellence in the September 2018 issue of Rhode Island Monthly. The Excellence in Nursing Awards are sponsored by Rhode Island Monthly and the Rhode Island State Nurses Association. The winners are chosen by a panel of out-of-state nursing professionals.
Diane, Director of Education at Roger Williams Medical Center, was named Clinical Nurse Educator of the Year. She has a long history at the hospital, dating back to 1969 when she started as a student nurse intern and her graduation in 1972 as part of the last class at the Roger Williams School of Nursing.
TJ, a nurse in the CCU at Fatima Hospital, was recognized as Clinical Practice Nurse of the Year. He has been with Fatima since 2012 and has been a member of the ICU team since 2015. He also serves as a firefighter for the town of Rehoboth, Massachusetts. Earlier this year, TJ became certified at the Firefighter I and II levels, along with receiving his certification for Hazardous Materials Awareness. In June, he was presented with the Martin H. McNamara Award for graduating top of his class at the Massachusetts Fire Academy.
The CharterCARE nursing awardees will be recognized along with all other honorees at Rhode Island Monthly's 2018 Excellence in Nursing Awards reception on September 27. Congratulations to both of these outstanding nurses!
