NYU Lutheran program in pediatric dentistry at St. Joseph accredited by CODA
Following a site visit in April 2016, the NYU Lutheran program in pediatric dentistry at the St. Joseph Health Center in Providence has been accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and has been granted an accreditation status of “approval without reporting requirements.” The Commission is a specialized accrediting body recognized by the United States Department of Education. This approval status ranks as A1, the highest offered by CODA, and is granted to an educational program that achieves or exceeds the basic requirements for accreditation. The NYU Lutheran Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry Program at the St. Joseph Health Center is fully operational and accredited until 2023. Since its inception in 2003, the program has graduated 45 pediatric dentists, approximately 11% of whom continue to practice in Rhode Island and/or serve as faculty at the Health Center. St. Joseph Health Center is a CharterCARE affiliate.
