St. Joseph and Fatima staff volunteer for dental health
On May 30 and 31, staff members from the St. Joseph Health Center and Fatima Hospital again volunteered to be part of the Mission of Mercy free dental clinic. The event, which is sponsored by the Rhode Island Oral Health Foundation and took place at the Community College of Rhode Island in Lincoln, saw more than 3,300 dental procedures delivered to individuals who otherwise could not afford proper dental care.
Dr. Jeffrey Dodge, who is the RI Mission of Mercy Chair, is a part-time faculty member in the AEGD program in the St. Joseph dental program. Pictured here at the event are Dr. Kevin Silva, Dr. Deborah Fuller, Dr. Joseph Samartano, and Manuela Waters, CDA.
The Rhode Island Oral Health Foundation was established in 2011 with the mission of providing funding and resources to improve oral health in the state of Rhode Island. The Mission of Mercy is the foundation's signature event.
