ST. JOSEPH NAMES NEW
NURSE EXECUTIVE
Debra A. Douglas, of Cumberland, has been appointed
Senior Vice President for Patient Services/Chief
Nursing Officer at Our Lady of Fatima Hospital,
a division of St. Joseph Health Services of Rhode
Island.

Douglas has held a variety of senior nursing leadership
positions at Landmark, Memorial and Roger Williams Hospitals
and joined Fatima Hospital last fall as Administrative
Director in Nursing. In her position, Douglas will manage
the delivery of clinical care to patients and will supervise
a nursing staff of more than 600 nurse professionals.
"Deb Douglas is a proven nurse executive with
over 27 years of progressive and diversified experience
in healthcare management, nursing administration and
patient care service" stated John Fogarty, Executive
Vice President & Acting CEO of St. Joseph Health
Services. "I am confident that her leadership will
allow our organization to balance the dual agendas of
operating efficiency and our commitment to provide the
highest quality care possible for our patients",
he continued.
Douglas is a graduate of the St. Joseph School of
Nursing and received a BS in Nursing from Rhode Island
College. She earned a Masters degree in Nursing at Anna
Maria College. A member of Who's Who In American Nursing,
the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the
American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Douglas
has published numerous professional articles on nursing
care and has been a frequent lecturer at symposia on
nursing and nursing administration issues.
