FOGARTY NAMED ACTING CEO
AT ST. JOSEPH HEALTH SERVICES
OF RHODE ISLAND
(North Providence, Rhode Island): John M. Fogarty
has been named acting president and chief executive
officer of St. Joseph Health Services of Rhode
Island (SJHSRI), the state's Catholic-sponsored
health system.

Fogarty has been part of the management team at SJHSRI
since 1988, and has served as its executive president
since 2001. He replaces H. John Keimig, who resigned to
become CEO of Quality Partners of Rhode Island.
Bishop Thomas Tobin, Chairman of the SJHSRI Board
of Trustees stated "John Fogarty is the consensus
choice of our Board to lead our organization during
this interim period. His knowledge of our organization
and his managerial talent will ensure stability in our
operations and will allow the Board to conduct a complete
and comprehensive assessment of our long-term needs
for executive leadership".
Fogarty stated "I am gratified by the confidence
the Board has placed in me, and I will focus my energy
on sustaining our organization's role as an essential
part of our state's health care system."
Fogarty received both his undergraduate degree and master's
in health care administration from Xavier University
in Cincinnati, Ohio. He and his wife Janet and their
two sons reside in Barrington.
