Dr. Robert Indeglia Named Medical
Director
of Wound Healing Center
(North Providence, RI) -- Robert Indeglia MD, PhD has
been named Medical Director of the Comprehensive Wound
Healing Center at Fatima Hospital. Dr. Indeglia has
a long history of medical leadership, including previous
service as Chief of Cardiac Surgery at Miriam Hospital.
He was trained at Georgetown Medical School with further
training in surgery and cardiovascular surgery at the
University of Minnesota.
"We are pleased to have Dr. Indeglia join the
Wound Healing Center," said Kenneth H. Belcher,
President and CEO of CharterCARE Health Partners. "Many
of the patients treated at the center have vascular
issues that result in non-healing ulcerations. Dr. Indeglia's
clinical expertise in vascular, cardiac and thoracic
surgery, along with his proven administrative capabilities,
should be highly beneficial to the center and the patients
we treat."
"The center has a well-documented success rate
in healing hard-to-treat wounds," said Dr. Indeglia.
"That statistic speaks to the high level of care
delivered for patients of the center."
The Comprehensive Wound Healing Center, located on the
Fatima campus at 200 High Service Avenue in North Providence,
is also pleased to announce the addition of two other
physicians.
Frank Detorie, MD, has joined the clinic as a panel
physician. Dr. Detorie received his medical education
at the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine and
completed his general surgery residency at St. Agnes
Hospital of Baltimore. He is a board-certified general
surgeon.
Joseph Domenico, DPM has joined the panel of existing
podiatry providers working in the clinic at the Comprehensive
Wound Healing Center. Dr. Domenico received his medical
education at Temple University in 2006, and completed
his residency at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.
He brings valuable clinical expertise in lower extremity
foot wounds, offloading and biomechanics to the clinic.
The Comprehensive Wound Healing Center offers a variety
of innovative treatments - including hyperbaric oxygen
therapy - that are customized to the needs of individual
patients. The multidisciplinary staff includes diabetes
education specialists, nationally certified nurses,
podiatrists, surgeons, vascular specialists, on-site
testing, and primary care physicians to ensure immediate
and expert coordination of patient care.
