SHRINERS SUPPORT ST. JOSEPH DENTAL CENTER
The Shriners of Rhode Island recently
presented St. Joseph Health Services with a charitable
grant to support the expansion of its Pediatric Dental
Center on its campus in South Providence. The center
has added two additional dental operatories or suites
to meet the growing demand for oral health care. The
dental center at St. Joseph Hospital now has 11 operatories
and is providing treatment to more than 15,000 underserved
children annually. It also operates a satellite center
in Pawtucket as well as dental sealant programs in the
Providence and Pawtucket school systems.
On hand for the check presentation were
(l-r) Andrew Hencler and Stephen Carpenter from the
RI Shriners, Otis Brown, vice president of St. Joseph
Health Services, and Dr. Daniel Kane, medical director
of the hospital's pediatric dental program.
